THE SEX PISTOLS are to release a special 30th anniversary edition of their classic debut album “Never Mind The Bollocks...Here's The Sex Pistols”.
The album will be re-issued in the U.K. on October 29 2007 in heavy weight vinyl with a 7" insert of “Submission” and a poster.
The format is how the record was originally released on October 28, 1977. “Submission” was missed off the original tracklisting when the album was mistakenly released a week earlier than planned. Due to the band's insistence, the first 50,000 copies of the album included a one-sided 7".
The band are also set to re-release their four classic singles: “Anarchy In The UK”, “God Save The Queen”, “Pretty Vacant” and “Holidays In The Sun”.
The tracks will be released throughout October on seven-inch vinyl in reporductions of their iconic single sleeves.
According to the band's label Virgin, The vinyl re-issue of the album will "re-create all the original artwork from the first editions' front and back. It will be housed in heavyweight paper sleeves.
The limited edition reissues will take place throughout October.
“Anarchy In The UK” will be released on October 1, “God Save The Queen” on October 8, “Pretty Vacant” on October 15 and “Holidays In The Sun” on October 29.

John Stabb's wife Mika has posted an update on the GOVERMENT ISSUE frontman's facial reconstruction surgery. She commented:
“The surgery itself took about 4 hours, though we were there all day. It was great to get that time to let each step of the process sink in. I would've wanted to watch the operation, but I didn't press the idea after I first brought it up last fri. w/ Dr. S. (I love that kind of stuff & also didn't relish leaving john's side. This is the first crisis of our still-nascent marriage, you know! ~an emotional journey, indeed. I must say, I think we're both handling it w/ panache, don'tcha think? ;) ). John is now the proud owner of some 5 or 6 titanium metal plates shoring up his "zygomatic tripod" bones (around the eye orbit) and his upper jaw, both of which had been sliding around; a screw (I think) under his right eye; a wide, leathery splint over his nose, SilenceOfTheLambs-style; and temporary braces readjusting his teeth. The jaw alignment came out "better than expected": so far, they have opted against wiring his jaw shut, although we will reevaluate later this week. He will need to wear clueless-old-guy huge bugeye sunglasses to protect the incision along his right eyebrow, destined to leave a wicked-cool war wound. All in all, a kickass operation.”
John Stabb was attacked by a group of five men just a block away from his home on July 17th. To help deal with the mounting medical bills and lost wages, friends of Stabb have pulled together a benefit effort under: members.aol.com/johnstabbbenefit

The Jam Unseen is a book of photographs, many previously unpublished, taken by a man called Twink. As the band's official photographer, the 21-year-old freelance from Newcastle, who had spent the previous few years documenting the new wave scene for the music press, was granted unlimited access to the trio and their entourage.
The book captures something of the essence of the Jam's supercharged, muscular live shows, but it also depicts a band in the midst of the bread and butter of touring: waiting, travelling, hanging around in dressing rooms with backstage "riders" that seem absurdly modest by today's standards - a few beers, and a couple of bottles of Corona lemonade. It also reveals, in the body language of the boyish Weller, a band who were walking their last mile: he seems distracted, gazing into his own, separate future.
"The Jam were a moment in time”, Twink tells me. "They weren't just a band; they were a movement in youth culture. They cast a spell over a generation of fans. When they broke up, many of us were devastated. And they were incredibly tight, musically. Their performances were magical. The thing I remember most about their shows was the heat; they were roasting.”
"For me, too, it was a very special time - I was only 21, and I'd just had a platinum album cover for The Gift, so I remember it all very fondly."
"We were always well-dressed", says bassist Bruce Foxton. "It was an important part of being in the Jam."
For Foxton, the book comes out at a time when he finds himself back in the Jam groove with the band From The Jam which he has put together with former Jam drummer Rick Buckler, and the clothes you see in the book are the clothes he still wears on stage.
"Amazingly”, says Foxton, "my wife kept all my Jam suits and shirts and stored them in my Jam wardrobe. When From the Jam went out on tour earlier this year, I was looking for something to wear, so I got them out, and they still fitted after nearly 30 years."
Last year, Foxton and Weller bumped into each other for the first time in years, backstage at a Who concert in Hyde Park.
"Paul was just hanging out, and my band at the time, the Casbah Club, were one of the support acts", says Foxton. "For a while there were a lot of embarrassing glances from one Portakabin to another. Then I nipped to the loo, Paul came in behind me, and it was big hugs all round."
Any chance of Weller joining his former bandmates on stage when they tour later this year? "It would be lovely”, says Foxton. "The door's always open."
The Jam Unseen (Cyan Books) is published on Aug 6, 2007.
A selection of photographs from the book will be on show at the Movie Poster Gallery in London from Oct 6-20, 2007.

The JOE STRUMMER Telecaster is modelled after the 66 Telecaster Strummer played throughout his career.
He brought the guitar in 1975 for £120 and kept on adding stencils, stickers and new licks of paint giving it its unique look.
To continue this with the new guitar, artist Shepard Fairey has worked on a customization kit with comes with stencils and stickers inspired by the custom design Strummer decorated many of his instruments with. The kit comes in a classic 12" album cover.

Rock musicians are helping pay for Manchester music legend TONY WILSON's £3,500-a-month cancer treatment after the Manchester NHS Primary Care Trust refused to fund it.
The Factory Records boss, who famously discovered Joy Division and Happy Mondays, is taking controversial new drug Sutent after chemotherapy failed to beat the cancer diagnosed last year.
Doctors at the Christie Hospital in Manchester recommended the drug - which has doubled the life expectancy of some patients in trials - but the Manchester trust has refused to pay on the grounds that there is not enough "demonstrable evidence to support the use of this drug in treating kidney cancer".
Wilson - who says he may appeal the decision - said: "When they said I would have to pay £3,500 for the drugs each month, I thought 'Where am I going to find the money?' I'm the one person in this industry who famously has never made any money.
"I used to say some people make money and some make history - which is very funny until you find you can't afford to keep yourself alive."
Nathan McGough, former manager of Happy Mondays, set up a fund teamed up with Elliott Rashman, the Mondays' present manager, after they heard of his plight and quickly collected enough money to fund his treatment for the next five months.
"Tony is such a highly respected figure in the entertainment industry we have built up a substantial fund," said McGough. Everyone I asked - businesses as well as individuals - were very quick to offer help. These people don't want thanks or recognition, they just wanted to help."

BILLY BRAGG has adopted the pseudonym Johnny Clash for the release of new single 'Old Clash Fight Song'.
The Clash-inspired track, out August 20, is being released to raise funds for Bragg's Jail Guitar Doors initiative, which he launched from the stage at this year's Shockwaves NME Awards. The project aims to provide guitars for rehabilitation work in British prisons.
Speaking about the influence of Joe Strummer's band, Bragg said in a statement: "Time and time again you find that it's old Clash fans who are leading the charge. Although we may have hung up oour leather jackets those of us who were touched by the fire of punk have held onto our anti-fascist ideals.
"The death of Joe Strummer in 2002 brought a lot of us together again to celebrate Joe's life and we were amazed to find that many of us were involved in activism in one way of another- union organisers, environmental campaigners, documentary film makers."
Bragg is giving £1 from each copy of the 7" sold to the Jail Door Initiative. The single is available via Billybragg.com.
The first donation made to the fund came from Clash guitarist Mick Jones, who recently accompanied Bragg to Wormwood Scrubs Prison in west London to deliver half-a-dozen guitars to the inmates there.

FULL BREACH KICKS - 5 year anniversary!
So, here are the new and forthcoming releases:
the SICK FITS – s/t CD / gatefold vinyl LP out now!
(pre-punk styled rock ‘n’ roll jams – myspace.com/sickfits)
the JONESES - “Keeping Up with The Joneses” CD / vinyl LP out July 24th with California record release shows in August.
“That’s right folks, The Joneses are back! Out of all the rock ‘n’ roll sleaze bands in Hollywood during the 1980s, The Joneses are recognized as coming first and being the toughest and most honest of them all. This no-nonsense group of trash rockers, led by the charismatic Jeff Drake, were a hot-blooded mix of the New York Dolls, Johnny Thunders, and Eddie Cochran, too glam for punk and too punk for rock.”
SOHO ROSES - “Whatever Happened To… The Complete Works Of” CD out Aug. 21st.
“The British glam punk band was only around from 1987-1989, but they managed to secure themselves a strong glam and punk cult following that continues to this day. These recordings, along with three remixed favorites, are here for the first time on CD with many rare band pictures and in-depth liner notes.”
the SODA POP KIDS - “Teen Bop Dream” CD / vinyl LP out Oct. 2nd.
“The Soda Pop Kids have carved themselves a permanent name in Portland punk history in recent years with their bubblegum punk sound and charismatic live show. They seamlessly combine the rough punk edge of the Dead Boys and the New York Dolls, the infectious rock ‘n’ roll rhythms of Little Richard and Chuck Berry, and the ‘60s bubblegum pop of Phil Spector’s girl groups – but gone wild.”
SEDATED JUST LIKE YOU - 25 Songs About and Inspired by the RAMONES.
“Compilation CD coming Spring 2008. Just like it sounds: No covers, just songs about the best punk band ever. Complete lineup posted soon. Tattoo contest where everyone’s a winner. Submit your Ramones tattoo and it’ll be posted on the FBK website and you’ll get a free comp. “Gabba Gabba Hey” t-shirt giveaways. This Epiphone PR5-E guitar owned and played by STIFF LITTLE FINGERS Jake Burns is being auctioned online on eBay. This guitar is being auctioned to help an old friend, Paul Fox from THE RUTS, who is sadly terminally ill with cancer. While Paul is continuing to work at the moment, this will obviously become harder as time goes on. Therefore, some friends are trying to help him as much as possible. This guitar was played by Jake on the Stiff Little Fingers albums: „Get a Life”, „Tinderbox” and „Hope Street”. The guitar will be signed by Jake, personalized to the winning bidder. This was very much a working instrument and as such its electrics will need some attention.
