NEW PUNK ROCK STUFF COMING EARLY NEXT YEAR ON TKO RECORDS:
the CROWD – “Letter Bomb” CD digi-pak (Release Date: January 22nd, 2008)
The year was 1978. The place was Huntington Beach, California. The band was THE CROWD. And nothing would ever be the same again. The Crowd were in the vanguard of the Orange County beach punk explosion of the late 1970s. They helped create and define a timeless sound which remains influential even today, over two decades later. One of the first and one of the best bands of their era, The Crowd are still going strong as the new millennium begins.TKO is to release “Letter Bomb” (originally released by the now defunct Flipside Records in 1996). plus, the vinyl only EP, “Dig Yourself” (1995), has been added as bonus tracks to this CD.
BROKEN BOTTLES – “Hospital” CD digi-pak (Release Date: January 22nd, 2008)
BROKEN BOTTLES are sticking to the sound they’re known for- a time warp straight back to the Posh Boy-era of Southern California Punk Rock. You’ll be checking your calendar to make sure you’re not back in 1982, recalling the more intense, moody days of punk rock where bands like TSOL, EARLY Social Distortion and Shattered Faith once reigned, when eyeliner was just as much part of the uniform as your combat boots. Telling true tales of radioactive youth and the broken homes in which they were raised, The Bottles have successfully created a goosebump-raising soundtrack for this generation's bad seed teens, as well as aging punk rockers that have been looking on in admiration at The Bottles, who have pulled off a sound they've all been trying to recapture for years.

THE SEX PISTOLS played their first show in four years at the “Roxy” on Los Angeles' Sunset Strip on Thursday night (25. October).
John Lydon, Steve Jones, Glen Matlock and Paul Cook gave a hour-long performance for a packed house.
"Hello LA!", boomed Lydon as he took the stage. "You've got the fucking floods, fires and earthquakes and now the Sex Pistols. You ain't doing too bad at all!"
At one point a woman jumped onstage to hug and kiss Jones, after which Lydon said: "Could the ugly birds stop getting up on stage, it's fucking embarrassing."
A scowling Lydon couldn't help smiling throughout the night, soaking in the adoration of the capacity crowd. Things turned confrontational when an audience member drenched him in beer, to which he responded: "I don't tolerate fucking cowards."
The band concluded the night with a climactic encore of 'Anarchy In The UK', which ended with Lydon repeating the phrase "fuck them all."
The private show was the Sex Pistols' only scheduled US date. It was sponsored by LA radio station Indie 103.1, which gave away tickets to a handful of fans to fill the 200-capacity venue.
Tickets were reportedly being sold on the internet for as much as $500.

LINDA STEIN, former manager to THE RAMONES and ex-wife of Seymour Stein, president of Sire Records, was killed in a shocking and senseless murder on Tuesday night (30. October). Stein, a former schoolteacher co-managed the Ramones during the band's heyday. She's credited with bringing the Ramones to England for their infamous July 4, 1976, show. That performance is often described as the catalyst for the punk movement in Britain. After Stein and Fields parted ways with the Ramones in 1980, she eventually launched a real estate career brokering multimillion-dollar Manhattan apartments for rock and roll royalty.
Stein's daughter found her body Tuesday night face down in the living room of the apartment, located in a doorman building on Fifth Avenue where she lived alone. There were no signs of a break-in or robbery, and police said they had no motive or suspects. An autopsy found that Stein, 62, died from blows to the head and neck.
