PASTI will be playing gigs later this year and early next year. Shows have been
agreed in Berlin in February 2009, London 2008, with possible short tours in the
US and other european countries
Morrissey has written an article for a new book on the New York Dolls.
The former Smiths singer wrote the afterword for 'New York Dolls: Photographs', a book of pictures of the seminal glam rockers whose praises he has sung throughout his career.
The pictures in the book were taken by photographer Bob Gruen, who has previously worked with The SEX PISTOLS, THE RAMONES and THE CLASH.
This isn't the first time Morrissey has written about the band; his book 'The New York Dolls' was published in 1981, while an article he wrote on the band appeared in The Next Big Thing fanzine three years earlier.
JOHN LYDON is set to star in an advert for British butter brand Country Life. According to Mad.co.uk, Lydon was chosen by the brand because he is a "British icon".
The campaign is set to start soon, although exact dates of broadcast are yet to be announced.
In a statement, Country Life said: "We don't think enough people know Country Life is the only major British butter brand and John gets the message through loud and clear.
"He is seen as a great British icon. His independent views are part of his consumer appeal and his tongue-in-cheek sense of humour shines through in our TV advertising."
THE DAMNED have just finished recording their first new album since 2001's 'Grave Disorder'. They are holding a launch party at London's Islington Academy on Wed 19th November.
MAGAZINE are to reform for just two shows in February next year. Original members Howard Devoto, Barry Anderson and John Doyle will be joined by an as-yet unnamed guitarist to walk in the footsteps of the much-missed John McGeoch. It will be the first time the band has played together since 2009. They will play London's Kentish Town Forum on February 13th and Manchester Academy on February 14th.
Virgin/EMI will release 'The Peel Sessions' by the band on 27th October. It features four different Peel Sessions, from '78 to '80.
The CD from NO ALTERNATIVE “Johnny Got His Gun 1978-1982” was being released on soundclick. last week. Also being released is a second CD of previously unreleased No Alternative songs.
Both CDs will be releasing at the end of the year on Squirrel Hound Recordings.

THE CLASH's Shea Stadium performance due out this October on CD. Recorded at Shea on October 13, 1982, the set will include the band's entire performance as they opened for The Who on their "farewell" tour. The record is titled “Live at Shea Stadium” and is due out October 06, 2008. The tour came shortly after the release of the band's massive 1982 full length, Combat Rock.
Also there is a limited deluxe edition. It is a jewel-case size hard bound digi pak which includes a stunning 32-page booklet of backstage and onstage photos shot by Bob Gruen and Joe Stevens. The recording is the first and only full-show live album released from The Clash.

X-RAY SPEX played a raucous comeback gig to a packed Roundhouse in London on September 6. The band, fronted by a bubbly, beret-sporting Poly Styrene, drew an audience of 3,000 excitable fans as they performed their classic 1978 album 'Germ Free Adolescents' in full. Styrene and co were supported by John Robb's Manchester outfit Goldblade, while a multimedia DJ set from Don Letts opened the night. Slits Tessa Pollitt, Madness' Chrissy Boy and Eater drummer Dee Generate were also in the audience to watch the reformed group.

The MANIC STREET PREACHERS have revealed that they will begin work on their next studio album at the end of next month.
Writing on the Manic Street Preachers blog, bassist Nicky Wire said that the three-piece were set to enter the studio to begin work on what will be their ninth studio album, and the follow-up to 2007's 'Send Away The Tigers'.
The band previously that they had been writing "dark" new material that echoed their 1994 album 'The Holy Bible'.
"End of September, we're hoping to start a new record," Wire wrote. "I can't really talk about it at the moment, but as far as we're concerned, it's booked and we’re going in to start recording properly around then.”
